A Holistic Approach to Healing
Life’s challenges: whether from trauma, painful experiences, or the daily grind, can leave you feeling disconnected. But what could this look like? It could be suppressing emotions, struggling to trust others, or feeling out of touch with your body. You may sense that something is 'off' but feel unsure of how to find your way back to balance.
As a holistic counsellor, I take a look at the bigger picture. You’re a whole person: a blend of spiritual, emotional, mental, social, and physical parts. When one part feels off, it can affect the others. Together, we’ll explore these connections and find ways to bring them into harmony again.
What our Work Together Looks Like
Healing starts with connection: connection to yourself, your emotions, and your body. In our sessions, we’ll explore the parts of you that may feel neglected or out of touch. This might mean uncovering emotions and thoughts you’ve suppressed, or learning to trust your body again. It may also mean rediscovering who you are and embracing your unique qualities. We’ll take small, meaningful steps to help you reconnect with your authentic self.
Moving Toward Wholeness
The journey to wholeness isn’t about being perfect... it’s about embracing the messy, vulnerable, and unique parts of yourself. I'm here to hold space for you and guide you through your healing journey.
Mindfulness and Body-based Interventions
The other part of the healing process lies in your body. Feelings don’t start as thoughts; they start as physical sensations. Think about how you have a racing heart when you’re anxious, tightness in your chest when you’re sad, or a clenched jaw when you’re angry. These are natural bursts of energy designed to move through your body. Ignoring your emotions can cause these bursts of energy to get "stuck". Emotions that become trapped in your body can make you feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or even numb.
In our sessions together, you'll learn how to let emotions flow through you, instead of pushing them aside. You'll learn mindfulness and body-based coping tools that can be used on a daily basis.
If you're looking to feel calmer, more present, and empowered, then please feel free to reach out.
Traditional counselling focuses on the mind. It’s about exploring your thoughts and emotions through conversation. This approach creates self-awareness but it only addresses one part of the healing process.
